IBA Lifesciences GmbH 10x Buffer BXT; Strep-Tactin™XT Elution B. is a ready-to-use buffer for elution of Strep-tagged proteins from Strep-Tactin™ XT.

  • 10x Buffer BXT is a 10x concentrated Strep-Tactin™XT elution buffer containing biotin.
  • Biotin is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin, also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H.

  • Biotin binds to Strep-Tactin™XT with very high affinity but reversibly and thereby allows the efficient elution of Strep-tag™II or Twin-Strep-tag™ fusion proteins from the resin.

Please note that 10x Buffer BXT is not applicable for elution of Strep-tag™II or Twin-Strep-tag™ fusion proteins from Strep-Tactin™, since biotin irreversibly binds to these resins, and thus Strep-Tactin™ cannot be regenerated.
