• 2-Thiouracil (Thiouracil or 4-Hydroxy-2-mercaptopyrimidine) is a nucleotide analog with a C-2 thioxo substitution
• 2-Thiouracil is a melanocyte suppressor and thyroid inhibitor


Applications
• 2-Thiouracil can be used to inhibit nitric oxide synthase and suppresses nitric oxide signaling in vitro
• 2-Thiouracil can be used for labeling of RNA in vitro
• 2-Thiouracil is intended for research applications only
