Acetylsalicylic acid, aspirin, CAS# 50-78-2, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory that is used widely as an analgesic and antipyretic.

• Acetylsalicylic acid is a common non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) and
• Acetylsalicylic acid works by inhibiting cyclooxygenases, reducing prostaglandin production and the release of pyrogens
