In accordance with the European Standard for microbiological safety cabinets, CEN BS EN12469:2000 (Table - 5), the KI Discus test is stated as an optional test for operator/personal protection. This applies to both commissioning and annual routine maintenance testing. However, national regulations should always be adhered to as some national regulations such as those from the HSE (UK) recommend that the KI Discus test be performed at least annually.
