Essential amino acid and a key component of culture media

L-glutamine is an essential amino acid and a key component of culture media, serving as a major energy source for propagating cells. It is very stable as a dry powder and as a frozen solution but degrades rapidly in liquid media or stock solutions, producing toxic compounds.
