They are used as tissue carriers, supports and strainers for culture of small organs, tissue slices, or explants at the air-media interface. They can be used to coarse filter tissue homogenates, cell suspensions, or microcarriers. Accessories allow them to be used as a handy carrier for immunocytochemical staining of tissue culture slices.
