Thermo Scientific Cryofuge 8 and 16 Centrifuges are high-capacity centrifuges specifically designed for blood banking and blood processing applications. These innovative floor-standing instruments incorporate GreenCool Technology, utilizing a natural CO2 refrigerant cooling system that complies with upcoming EU and US EPA F-gas regulations. This refrigerant boasts a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1, while ensuring ozone-friendly operation, significantly reducing the environmental impact of centrifuge operation. Additionally, GreenCool technology offers reduced energy consumption, reducing the operational costs, rapid cool-down times, and excellent temperature stability.
Available in two models, these centrifuges offer the flexibility to select higher capacity rotors or match existing workflows, with a choice of four Thermo Scientific HAEMAFlex rotors:
- Cryofuge 8: Capacity of up to 6 x 550 mL and 8 x 550 mL blood bags. Maximum speed/ RCF: 5,000 rpm/ 7,295 x g
- Cryofuge 16: Capacity of up to 12 x 550 mL and 16 x 550 mL blood bags. Maximum speed/ RCF: 4,700 rpm/ 7,187 x g
Both models are made in Germany, a certified zero-waste facility using 100% renewable energy.
The Cryofuge series provides outstanding capacity for large-volume processing while maintaining user-friendly operation and global compliance standards. Enhanced ergonomics, reduced noise levels, and lighter weight contribute to an improved laboratory environment. The centrifuges are compatible with various rotors, buckets, liners, adapters, consumables, and software, offering a comprehensive solution for efficient and sustainable blood processing in modern facilities.
