Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

MA1-7024 detects the Cytomegalovirus. This antibody is specific for an immediate early antigen present early in the infectious cycle. MA1-7024 has been successfully used in immunofluorescence procedures. The MA1-7024 immunogen is Cytomegalovirus lysate.

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is an opportunistic pathogen infecting lung, kidney, gut and other organs in situations where an individual is immunologically immature, such as the foetus and neonate. Infection also occurs in immunosuppressed patients e.g. transplant patients, patients undergoing chemotherapy and those with HIV infection. Cytomegalovirus is an enveloped double stranded DNA virus which in humans (HCMV) is commonly known as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5).
