General Description
Dexamethasone 21-phosphate disodium salt is a sodium phosphate salt form of dexamethasone, considered to be a synthetic adrenal glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory activity
Application
Dexamethasone 21-phosphate disodium salt binds to specific nuclear steroid receptors, interfering with NF-kB activation and apoptotic pathways
It acts as an inducer of apoptosis and inhibitor of the sodium phosphate symporter
It has been used as a positive control to study its effects on ocular shedding of herpes simplex virus type 1 in the induced reactivation and spontaneous shedding rabbit models
This compound is used to study its protective effects against cisplatin-induced ototoxicity in the inner ear of guinea pigs
