Protein precipitation reagent | CAS: 76-03-9 | C2HCl3O2 | 163.378 g/mol

Trichloroacetic acid, is traditionally used to precipitate protein. Has been used to determine protein concentration by quantitative precipitation. It is also used as a decalcifier and fixative in microscopy in protein sequencing, detecting albumin and organic synthesis. A protocol for the precipitation of nucleic acids can be found in Molecular Cloning.

Store under nitrogen. Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Keep away from strong oxidizing agents, strong bases, smines.
